The Kilburn - Nara Paddle Dryer is
a conduction type dryer that processes granular and
powdery material. It dries or cools the material by
bringing them into direct contact with revolving cuniform shaped hollow paddles without using gas as a heating
medium. |

PRINCIPLE
OF OPERATION: |
Heat
transfer from heating medium to the material
is by conduction. Efficient drying of
powdery / crystalline / granular material
is achieved by bringing it in direct contact
with revolving cuniform hollow paddles
without using air gas heating medium.
The trough is uniformly
heated by passing heating medium through
the jacket. This ensures that the entire
material in the dryer is in full contact
with the total heat transfer area during
its passage through the dryer. |

can be virtually used for all types of ‘powders’.
This is primarily due to the absence of heating air, which
ensures dust free operation enabling the efficient drying
of dusty powders. |

| Depending upon the industry
or the requirements of the product, there can be variations
introduced in the paddle dryer with respect to the number
of thermal shafts, the speed of the paddles, the temperature
of the heating material (for abrasive materials) and
the nature of the wear parts. |
