Continuous Fluid Bed Dryer... |
This type
of Fluid Bed Dryer provides heat from two sources to the
product -one by hot air and the other by immersed heat
exchanger tubes inside the bed. This improves the heat
transfer co-efficient and decreases the air quantity required
for drying by 50% to 70%. The equipment also becomes extremely
compact.
The construction is similar to that of continuous type
Fluid Bed Dryer but the drying chamber has a special construction
in respect of mounting heat exchanger tubes in the fluidisation
area. These specially designed tubes do not hinder fluidisation
of the particles, but promote heat transfer. |

DESIGN
OF A COMMERCIAL FLUID BED SYSTEM |
Design
of a commercial size Fluid Bed System involves a lot more
than just heat-mass transfer calculations or sizing. Pilot
plant tests, experience and field data are extremely important
for designing an optimized Fluid Bed System for continuous
application. Consideration of fluidisation velocity, operating
temperature, particle size distribution, drying characteristic
of material, distributor plate, bed height and dedusting
system require pilot plant tests.
Kilburn Engineering Limited has a full fledged Test Centre,
where exhaustive facilities are available for Pilot Plant
Tests. All variable parameters can be adjusted to study
the drying characteristics of a substance and thereby
determine values of important parameters. This data is
further supplemented with empirical and actual field data. |
